farm_sheep.jpg Ok, so you may have seen some posts in my site relating to HDR photography and you may be asking what is HDR well if you wish to know, read on…

The process I use for creating a HDR image begins with taking a number of shots in RAW format. I take 3 bracketed shots ±2 either side, some people use ±5 or even ±7 either side, I can’t comment on how much better these increased shots make to the final image as I’ve not experimented.

The 3 shots are then taken into a piece of software called Photomatix Pro and put through a process called tone mapping where certain values are changed to manipulate the image into the finished HDR image. A quick ‘process’ of the image is then done and hey presto – stunning shots.

One thing to bare in mind is always use a tripod as the 3 shots must be exactly the same image or ‘ghosting’ occurs in the final image.

I’ll be uploading and showcasing some of my HDR shots on here, so pop back from time to time to check in on them. I hope you enjoy and good luck with your images.
