It was with intrigue that I watched the unit, near where I work, take shape and transform into a retail shop. It was with greater interest that I watched stock being taken in and it soon became apparent that there was going to be a new garden furniture store for us to peruse.

It’s now been a couple of months and Outer Space seems to be going from strength to strength which is great news for Harborough as it strengthens the independent retailing aspect that gives the town some uniqueness.

So really this post is to applaud them for their vision, their very nice store and for upholding the independent retailing aspect of Market Harborough.

This iconistic image played a major part in my formative years and shaped the latter stages of my degree course. It is an image taken from the critically acclaimed comic book series Watchmen and for me represents the irony that threads through the comic. In it’s own right it conveys a lot of irony with the blood splat and a happy face and on from that more ironically it is the favoured symbol of The Comedian character who deals out death.

The reason it’s here… I simply love the image. It suggests more than the obvious irony, it continues the recurrent geometric motif of a circle with it being reminiscent of a clock face and the ‘big hand’ pointing at ’10 to’ the hour, 5 minutes before defcon 5.

I could go on for days about this image, but instead, I’m going to sit back and enjoy.

New fish become superhero side kicks

Today, 3 unbeknown fish became the latest recruits to aid this ageing superhero in his fight against evil.. To protect their identities their names cannot be given though their hero names can… Bacon, Lettuse and Tomato, colletively known as BLT.

Watch out evil, there’s some new fish in the tank.

How are my new shoes doing?

So I’ve had my Oakley sandal type shoes for just over 3 weeks now and I’d just like to say they’re great, really comfortable and easy to wear. I still haven’t been able to run backwards I’m them, but hey I guess I’ll just have to keep moving forward.

Do they make me a better person? I doubt it. Do they make me a better Web Designer? I doubt that either. Do they keep my feet comfortable and cool? You’d better bloody believe it.
